American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider - 2 Year Initial Certification

Recommended for: MDs, RNs, EMTs, Dentists, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists and Medical Personnel

ACLS Course Description

This course is for Healthcare Professionals taking it for the first time or have an AHA Certification that has expired by more than six (6) months. The ACLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who may either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.

The course is designed to give students the opportunity to practice and demonstrate proficiency in the following skills used in resuscitation:

  • Systemic Approach (assessment)
  • High-quality BLS
  • Airway management
  • Rhythm recognition
  • Defibrillation
  • Intravenous(IV)/Instraosseous (IO) (information only)
  • Use of medications
  • Cardioversion
  • Transcutaneous pacing
  • High-performance teams

This course also offers the option to add the BLS certification.

How Does it Work?

The student will register and pass the mandatory Precourse Self-Assessment.  Then the student will be given the key to review, understand, and complete the mandatory precourse work (video lessons).  Once you have passed the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment and completed the video lessons, print your certificate, and bring it with you to class.  During the class, we will review the material, practice the skills, run codes, and complete your ACLS course exam.  Beautiful!

Ensure that your BLS skills and knowledge are current for the resuscitation scenarios.  You will be tested on adult high-quality BLS skills using a feedback manikin at the beginning of the ACLS Course.  However, you will also have the option to add the BLS Certification and skills training to this course.  This way you can finish both courses on the same day and receive those certification cards.  Very popular among our clients!!

PALS COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is for Healthcare Professionals taking it for the first time or have an AHA PALS Certification that has expired by more than six (6) months. The PALS Provider Course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct, or participate in the management of respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies and cardiopulmonary arrest in pediatric patients.  Precourse preparation, didactic instruction, and active particpation in learning stations and simulated cases will be used to enhance the recognition and intervention of respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. 

Course Goal

The goal of the PALS Provider Course is to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high-performance team dynamics and high-quality individual skills.

Heartsaver First Aid is a classroom course that is designed to meet OSHA regulations.  The course teaches basic first aid skills such as:

  • Stopping bleeding that can be seen

This course satisfies the EMSA Pediatric First Aid Requirement.

American Heart Association Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED - 2 Year Certification

Recommended for: Daycare Providers, Preschools, Babysitters, School Bus Drivers, Child Care Workers, Parents and anyone working with children 8 years and younger.

** This class meets the requirements for the CPR and First Aid portion of the EMSA for Child Care Providers and School Bus Drivers.

The Pediatric First Aid and CPR/AED Certification Course:

HeartCode® BLS, is a comprehensive, official, and self-directed eLearning program developed and originated by the American Heart Association (AHA). This program uses eSimulation technology to present realistic patient scenarios. Students are presented with 5 BLS cases and an online multiple-choice written exam. While interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on 2020 BLS guidelines, and provide treatment. Successful completion of Part 1, the cognitive component, and Parts 2 and 3, skills practice and testing with an AHA BLS Instructor or a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) system, are the requirements for obtaining an AHA BLS Provider course completion card. Maintaining a professional career as a Healthcare Provider can be challenging when scheduling and attending certification courses.  As a result, the American Heart Association has developed an official, self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program reflecting new science based on the 2020 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC.  Presented with a team dynamics lesson, 10 ACLS hospital-based case scenarios, the student will interact with the program, assessing each patient and formulate treatment based on 2020 ACLS guidelines and provide treatment.  The student will practice skills and testing with instructor through Zoom after successfully completing the online cognitive component and receive the ACLS Provider course completion card.

This Web-based eLearning course provides the cognitive portion (Part 1) of the AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course, and can be used for initial or renewal certifications. Featuring the eSimulation technology, students participate in realistic patient scenarios, assess patients, and formulate treatment - online and the best part, at your own pace. HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent circulatory (shock) emergencies, respiratory emergencies, arrythmias with or without adequate perfusion, and cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.

The AHA Heartsaver First & CPR/AED online course is an eLearning course designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who need an AHA certification card.  You will learn:

 

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Adult CPR and AED use
  • Adult choking
  • Child CPR and AED use (optional)
  • Infant CPR (optional)
  • Child choking (optional)
  • Infant choking (optional)

 

Once you begin the course, you will have access to the online lessons, videos, manuals and resources for 2 years!

American Heart Association Skills Station for e-Learning BLS

Audience:
Participants who have completed part one of the AHA-HeartCode BLS course or who have completed part one of the AHA-BCLS online e-learning program. Students must provide a print out of the part one course completion certificate. The AHA BLS Provider card will be issued upon completion.

Classroom Time:
15 minutes on the average.  Please call us to schedule and come in for your skills testing.

AMA Credit Designation Statement – Physicians

The American Heart Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement – Physician Assistants

Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 1.75 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ credit for completing this program.

The American Heart Association PALS skills session is the hands-on portion of an AHA eLearning Pediatric Advanced Life Support course and includes Parts 2 and 3 – skills practice and testing.  It is conducted in-person after a student completes Part 1 online.  Please print your completion certificate from the online course and bring that with you to the skills test.

The PALS skills session is conducted by AHA PALS instructor.  After successful completion of the skills test, the student will be issued in PALS Provider card.

 

 

The Heartsaver CPR & AED Course (Parts 2 and 3) require students to meet with an American Heart Association Instructor to complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test.  Upon successful completion of all three parts students receive a course completion card valid for two years.

This course satisfies the EMSA Pediatric CPR requirement.

This course is for community members, personal trainers, teachers, and day care providers seeking an initial or renewal Heartsaver CPR & AED Course Completion Card (Part 1 sold seperately).
